Letter from National Moderator, MI Philippines
Dear Knights,
Have you said your MI prayer at least once a day?
Thomas Edison, the American inventor of the light bulb, and over 1000 other inventions, including the phonograph and a movie projector, once said: "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." The Legion of Mary handbook put it differently saying that nothing is impossible because every impossibility can be divided into 100 steps, each one of which is possible.
But in our case, as Knights of the Immaculate, we are working with Her, and She is far more than the 1% of a Thomas Edison equation for invention: 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. She is our inspiration, our support in prayer, our Mother of Mercy and the Queen of all apostles. If we can only add a few more efforts, with a hope that will never allow us to quit serving Her or striving to fulfill Her goals, we can be incredibly effective in the apostolate and serviceable to the eyes of His Infinite Majesty.
For this dear friends, please remember the one effort we understood as our only requirement on the day of our Consecration: to say at least once a day the MI prayer: "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us, who have recourse to thee, and for all those who do not have recourse to thee, especially the freemasons, and all those who are commended to thee”.
Saying this prayer once a day unites us to thousands of others doing the same thing, and a thousand souls praying in unison with Mary, even such a small prayer, represent an incredible spiritual force.
Please be faithful to this small prayer, and the MI will become a great army set in battle array.
In Our Lord,
Fr. J. Timothy Pfeiffer, Philippine National Moderator
